About Carmen Rosa’s Bakery

A native of Dominican Republic, Carmen Rosa migrated to the United States with the optimistic hope of building a legacy that would significantly make an impact in the lives of others. After settling down in the US and starting a family, she decided on a life of entrepreneurship, merging her love for baking and her passion for art.

She took a baking class in New York City and started to bake at home for her friends and family for their special events. Word of her delicious cakes spread over the years, and her baking pastime became a full fledged career. She outgrew her home kitchen and in 1999 opened up Carmen Rosa’s Bakery in Jersey City, NJ.

Since then Carmen Rosa’s Bakery has become a staple in Jersey City and its surrounding areas. The bakery is owned and operated by Carmen Rosa and her daughters. By maintaining her original Dominican Cake recipe and integrating classic and modern decorating techniques, Carmen Rosa has maintained her love of baking some 40 years later; and it comes through in every cake.
